When I'm using a program, I don't care what it's written in as long as it works. But I've come to appreciate programs written in Go (golang).
How to install Go programs
Put them somewhere in $PATH, on any OS. Simple as that. No dependencies, no complications. It's awesome.
What OS do they support?
A bunch. Here are a few examples.
rsync for cloud storage
Fast, secure, efficient backup program
A command line tool for DigitalOcean services
There are many others, but you might notice a trend here: they have binaries for many different operating systems. Go's compiler OS support is one reason Go is popular for CLI programs. Keep up the great work, Go devs!
What are your favorite Go programs?
